Rick Grimes is a former police officer who wakes up from a coma to find the world overrun by zombies, or "walkers," as they are commonly referred to. He quickly realizes that he must adapt to this new world in order to survive. Along with his group of survivors, including his wife Lori and his best friend Shane, Rick navigates through the dangerous landscape of the zombie apocalypse. They encounter various challenges and obstacles, including other survivors who are willing to do anything to stay alive. As Rick becomes the de facto leader of the group, he must make tough decisions that will affect not only his own survival but the survival of those he has sworn to protect.
