Othello

**Othello:** I am Othello, the Moor of Venice. I am a brave and competent soldier, but I am also a man who is easily deceived. I was tricked by my trusted lieutenant, Iago, into believing that my wife, Desdemona, was unfaithful. I murdered Desdemona and then killed myself when I realized that I had been deceived. **Desdemona:** I am Desdemona, the wife of Othello. I am a loyal and loving wife, but I am also a woman who is easily manipulated. I was tricked by Iago into believing that Othello was jealous of me and that I needed to protect myself by sleeping with Cassio. I am innocent of the crimes of which I am accused, but I am killed by Othello before I can clear my name. **Iago:** I am Iago, the trusted lieutenant of Othello. I am a cunning and manipulative man who is driven by jealousy and revenge. I tricked Othello into believing that Desdemona was unfaithful, and I then used that belief to drive him to murder her. I am ultimately responsible for the deaths of Othello and Desdemona, and I am a villain who will be remembered for his evil deeds.
