Venom
Venom is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by writer David Michelinie and artist Todd McFarlane, and first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #300 (May 1988). Venom is an alien symbiote with an amorphous, liquid-like form, who bonds with and gives superpowers to its host, most commonly Spider-Man.
The symbiote was originally an organism from the planet Klyntar, a peaceful world inhabited by symbiotic beings. The symbiotes were used as weapons by the Klyntar's ruling caste, the Life Foundation, who sent several of them to Earth in an attempt to conquer the planet. One of these symbiotes bonded with Spider-Man, giving him new powers and abilities. However, the symbiote's violent and aggressive nature eventually caused Spider-Man to reject it. The symbiote then bonded with Eddie Brock, a disgraced journalist who had been framed by Spider-Man. As Venom, Brock became Spider-Man's archenemy.
Venom has since become one of Marvel Comics' most popular characters. He has appeared in several animated series and films, including the 1994 Spider
