The BMW M1 Procar was a racing car designed specifically for the 1979 season of the Formula One World Championship. It was based on the BMW M1, a mid-engined sports car that was produced by BMW in collaboration with Italian design firm Italdesign. The M1 Procar was designed to be a support race for the Formula One events, and it featured a powerful 3,453 cc M88 inline six-cylinder engine that produced over 470 horsepower.
