Armin Arlert and Annie Leonhart grew up together in a small village on the outskirts of the Walls. They were inseparable as children, always playing together and dreaming of joining the Survey Corps one day. When they were in third grade, Annie's family moved away to join the enemy nation, Muskan, without telling Armin.
