Megumi YOKOTA
Megumi Yokota was born in Tokyo, Japan, on August 18, 1965. She was a bright and cheerful child who loved to play outside and spend time with her friends. In 1977, when she was just 13 years old, Megumi was abducted by North Korean agents while on a school trip to the Philippines.
Megumi's abduction was a major international incident, and it sparked outrage and condemnation from governments around the world. However, despite years of searching and diplomatic efforts, Megumi has never been found.
In 2002, North Korea finally admitted to abducting Megumi and 12 other Japanese citizens. However, they claimed that all of the abductees had died, and they refused to provide any further information.
Megumi's family and friends refuse to believe that she is dead. They continue to search for her, and they believe that she will one day be reunited with them.
Megumi's story is a reminder of the horrors of human trafficking and the importance of protecting children. It is also a story of hope and resilience, and it shows the power of love and family to never give up.
