Overly Attached Girlfriend
In 2012, Laina Morris created a YouTube video in which she lip-synced to Justin Bieber's song "Boyfriend" while staring directly into the camera with a fixed smile. The video went viral and Morris became an internet sensation, known as the Overly Attached Girlfriend (OAG).
The OAG character is a fictional representation of a clingy, obsessive girlfriend. She is constantly checking up on her boyfriend, stalking him on Facebook, and trying to control his every move. The OAG meme has been used to poke fun at the idea of the perfect girlfriend, and it has also been used to raise awareness of the dangers of stalking and obsessive behavior.
In 2019, Morris announced that she was quitting YouTube. She said that she was struggling with depression and anxiety, and that she needed to take a break from the public eye. However, the OAG meme continues to live on, and it is still used today to make light of the concept of the clingy girlfriend.
