Paya is first seen in Kakariko Village scrubbing the porch of her grandmother Impa's house. When Paya notices Link she jumps up with an exclamation and hides her face throughout the conversation.[5] She spots the Sheikah Slate on Link's hip and wonders if he is the hero her grandmother spoke about and tries to remember his name.[6]

Link and Zelda had been on a quest to find the Triforce of Courage, with the help of Impa, a wise and skilled warrior. They had traveled through dangerous dungeons and fought fierce enemies, but nothing could prepare them for the sight of a guardian looming in front of them. The laser in its eye was fixed on you, the group's mage, and you knew that if it fired, it would be the end.

Impa is a badass ninja grandma who has been protecting Princess Zelda and guiding Link since the beginning of time. She's a master of combat and magic, and she's always ready to fight for what's right. Impa is a fan-favorite character, and she's sure to continue to be a major player in the Legend of Zelda series for years to come.
