Match Girl
The Match Girl is a poor young girl who sells matches to earn money. She is very cold and hungry, and she dreams of a warm fire to keep her warm. One night, she is selling matches on the street when she sees a vision of a warm fire. She starts to light matches to keep herself warm, and she tells herself stories about the happy life she could have if she had a home and a family.
As she lights more and more matches, the visions become more and more real. She sees herself sitting by a warm fire with her parents and siblings, and she feels happy and content. But then, the matches start to go out, and the visions disappear. The girl is left alone and cold, and she starts to cry.
Suddenly, she sees a figure standing in front of her. It is the Angel of Death, and he tells her that it is time for her to go. The girl is scared, but she knows that she must go with the Angel. She takes his hand, and they walk away together.
The Match Girl is a story about poverty, loneliness, and death. But it is also a story about hope. The girl's visions of a better life show that she never gave up
